Detailed info:
Cyneric Conroy is a 29 year old human Messenger, a priest of Hermes. In that world Hermes is the god of mischief and messages (okay, that's probably obvious), in a second edition game of "Dungeons and Dragons". The symbol of Hermes is a winged fox and His color is carnelian red. On this particular continent Hermes is one of only two Greek deities remaining- the other is Apollo. That pantheon has slowly waned over the centuries, but these two gods likely stuck around when the new deities arrived because their followers are useful. Healers and Messengers are always needed.

At the moment Cyn is just an average Messenger, but he will become the Head Messenger (High Priest) of his mosque when the current head of his order steps down. Out of all the party members he's the local boy, having been born and raised in and near Woodland, the "home base" of the game. He's the youngest son of a very upper-class family; he comes from a long line of knights and is actually the first male in his family to break tradition and not be a warrior of some sort. Though they're local, he doesn't talk about his family much and to say that he doesn't get along with them would be a vast understatement. The only person in his family he is close to is his slightly-older brother, and this brother is the only family member he considers sane. (It's always baffled Cyn as to why Kendric wasn't also Called by Hermes; as well as looking almost like twins, he and his brother have nearly identical personalities. Perhaps Hermes thought Kendric would be of more use in his chosen career path, or maybe two priestly Conroys would have been too many- I'm betting on that last one.)

Had things shifted slightly in his youth, Cyn probably would have become a druid because he has a very strong connection to plants and animals, but he was Called by Hermes instead (which probably worked out in Cyn's favor because who's ever heard of an aristocratic druid?). Fortunately, two of Hermes' spheres of influence are plants and animals, so Cyn is able to use these to his advantage when he travels. Being a Messenger is a perfect career for him and being given the innate ability to speak with animals sealed the deal. If it's possible for a human noble to feel a connection to the land, he has that; he gets horribly homesick when he has to be away from Woodland for an extended period of time. Possibly this stems from being bound to a half-elf with ranger training, maybe it has to do with his family living in the same location for centuries, or it could just mean that he's simply a homebody- who knows?

Cyn is a very private person, to say the least. Unlike his priestly brethren, he's not particularly good at disguises and acting- but in one way, he is; the side he usually shows to the world isn't the same as his actual personality. Most people see him as possessing just his more negative traits: bossy, sarcastic but serious, overly career-oriented, somewhat cold and aloof, and bordering on pretentious (he may consider himself a rebel aristocrat, but he's still noblility...). If one gets to know him a bit better, they'll discover another trait: mischief. Like all Messengers, he'll prank friends and colleagues as readily as he pranks people he doesn't like.

If someone has earned Cyn's respect and trust (not an easy task), they may actually see his positive characteristics: he's kind, gentle, helpful, loyal, protective, extremely intelligent, completely and utterly devoted to his Calling (...except for that certain half-elf-shaped void), in possession of a good sense of humor, and yes, he can even be caring and passionate. Very very few people get to see all of these traits, however, and those that do are mostly other Messengers; even the adventurers he travels with (with the exception of his bodyguard) aren't often able to see this mostly-hidden side.

That's one other personality thing that should be mentioned- Cyn will always keep his personal life and background mum. He will never voluntarily talk about himself and if pressured into giving details, the most one can expect are his usual half-truths on the subject. He'll never flat-out lie, but... well, it's not the truth, either.

Although he's technically an adventurer (and a member of a mercenary's guild), he doesn't consider himself one; the reason he travels is to carry deliveries, not for fame, wealth, or excitement. He'll be quite happy when he's promoted and able to stay permanently in his home town, no longer having to worry about foolish and rash party members or marauding enemies. Cyn will never attack (or even defend) with a weapon unless he absolutely has to, and, even then, he's likely to apologize to whatever he's hitting. He's spent his entire life trying to not be a fighter so he's certainly a reluctant adventurer. He will use magic as a defense, but prefers to talk his way out of a possible bad situation. Don't get on his bad side, though; he's constantly prepared with many mostly-harmless (and some not-so-innocuous) spells and isn't above summoning insects or calling vines if irked.

His main traveling companions are his orc henchman/ bodyguard/ friend named SwampFox, his red fox Loxie, and he now has a pet raven named Lëo. Other members of the party can be seen below.
